Objectives
The object of the Society is to improve and strengthen the family and community life in Singapore. To achieve the above objective, the Society may, subject to the prior approval from the relevant authorities, where necessary: (a) serve the needy in the community through the provision of welfare services including child care, student care, tuition and educational services, youth development, the provision of financial assistance (including bursaries and loans), drop-in centre(s) and service centre(s); (b) meet the needs of youths, whether through schools or institutions, the activities or programmes of the Society or otherwise; (c) provide an information and referral service to tap existing community resources for low income families and to enable the needs of service users to be dealt with by the most appropriate organisation; (d) provide care, assistance and counselling to individuals and families in distress; (e) organise educational and awareness programmes that will strengthen the family unit, enhance family life and meet the real needs of individuals; (f) provide services that aim to help children from disadvantaged families upgrade themselves through tuition programmes, literacy programmes and enrichment programmes; (g) develop and sustain the participation of volunteers in the programmes of the Society; (h) develop networks and work in harmony with social and community organisations within and outside the neighbourhood, to better serve the needs of the service users; (i) provide quality support services to meet the needs of identified target groups in the community; (j) provide and promote a range of services which emphasises remedial, preventive and developmental programs for members of the family; (k) promote active involvement of Christians in community work and welfare services so as to demonstrate the love of Christ in the community by living out the gospel so that Christ may be known; (l) organise and carry out fund-raising projects and campaigns to support the activities of the Society; (m) generally assist in the relief of poverty, suffering, ignorance or ill health, whether physical or mental, without limitation of age, sex, race, nationality, religion or moral character; (n) do all things that are conducive, incidental or related to all or any of the objects of the Society.
