| Professor Robbie Goh is Provost and Professor of the Singapore University of Social Sciences, a position he has held since 1 October 2021. Prior to this, he spent 33 years at the National University of Singapore, most recently as Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Science. Professor Goh obtained his B.A. (Honours First Class, direct honours) and his M.A. from the National University of Singapore, and his Ph.D from the University of Chicago. His research and teaching fall mainly in the areas of Christianity in Asia, Indian Anglophone Literature, and the Semiotics of Popular Culture. He has authored/co-authored 5 scholarly monographs, edited/co-edited 8 scholarly collections, and authored more than 100 articles in scholarly journals or edited volumes. In addition, he has written 3 other general readership books on Christian institutions in Singapore, and co-edited 2 anthologies of Singapore poetry.
Professor Goh serves on the editorial boards of the academic journals Cross Currents and Semiotica. He also serves on a number of boards and committees, including as Advisor to the Metropolitan YMCA Board, Patron of TAVA by Talent Beacon, co-chair of the SUSS-MSF-NCSS tripartite collaboration committee, member of the Social Science Research Council, Member of the Labour Alliance co-Lab, Member of the Institute for Adult Learning Council, and others.
