Thank you for visiting the Charity Portal website (the “Website”). All access and use of this Website is governed by the terms below. Please read the following Terms of Use carefully before proceeding further. If you do not accept these Terms of Use, please exit immediately. You shall be deemed to have accepted these Terms of Use if you choose to continue to access and use this Website.

  1. General
    1. This Website is owned and operated by the Government of the Republic of Singapore as represented by the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (“MCCY”).
    2. MCCY may at any time without notice amend these Terms of Use. Such amended Terms will be posted on the Website, and shall be effective immediately. Your use of this Website after the amended Terms have been posted will constitute your agreement to be bound by the amended Terms of Use.
  2. Proprietary Rights
    1. The materials located on this Website including the graphics, images, statistical data, reports, charts, graphs, information and documentation (the “Contents”), are protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property rights. All rights, title and interest in the Contents are owned by, licensed to or controlled by MCCY.
  3. Restrictions on Use of the Contents
    1. Except as otherwise provided, the Contents of this Website shall not be reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted or otherwise distributed in any way, without the prior written permission of the Government, as represented by MCCY.
    2. Modification of any of the Contents or use of the Contents for any other purpose will be a violation of MCCY’s copyright and other intellectual property rights. Graphics and images on this Website are protected by copyright and may not be reproduced or appropriated in any manner without the written permission of MCCY.
    3. Apart from obtaining express permission from MCCY as referred to in Clause 3.1, the Applicant shall ensure that:
      1. due acknowledgement is given to MCCY, citing this Website and/or communications with MCCY where applicable, in relation to the relevant data extracted;
      2. the Contents are used for informational and non-commercial purposes only;
      3. the Contents will not be copied or posted on any network computer or broadcast in any media; and
      4. no alterations, additions or modifications to the Contents are made in any way.
    4. Any request for MCCY’s written permission should be submitted to the Charities Unit via email​.
  4. ​ Disclaimer of Warranties and Liability
    1. The Contents of this Website are provided on an "as is" basis without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Government does not warrant and hereby disclaims any warranty:
      1. as to the accuracy, correctness, reliability, timeliness, non-infringement, title, merchantability or fitness for any particular purpose of the Contents of this Website; and
      2. that the Contents available through this Website or any functions associated therewith will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that defects will be corrected or that this Website and its hosting servers are and will be free of all viruses and/or other harmful elements.
    2. MCCY shall also not be liable for any damage or loss of any kind (direct, incidental or consequential) caused as a result of the use of this Website, including but not limited to any damage or loss suffered as a result of reliance on the Contents contained in or available from this Website.
  5. Use of Data
    1. Subject to Clauses 5.2 to 5.8, any personal data shared with MCCY (“Personal Data”) through this Website may be collected, used and disclosed by MCCY to the extent that it is necessary for the effective delivery of public services.
    2. Personal Data may be disclosed to with other Government agencies and Statutory Boards carrying out public functions (“Public Agencies”) unless such disclosure is prohibited by law. Users of this Website shall be presumed to consent to such disclosure of Personal Data.
    3. Personal Data will not be disclosed to entities that are not Public Agencies except where such entities have been authorised to act on behalf of MCCY and the Personal Data is necessary in order for the entities to do so.
    4. MCCY shall secure all electronic storage and transmission of Personal Data with appropriate security technologies.
    5. Users of this Website may revoke their consent to the disclosure of Personal Data referred to in Clauses 5.2 and 5.3 by writing to the Charities Unit.
    6. Users of this Website warrant that all Personal Data submitted through this Website is complete, accurate and consistent with any supporting documents that are submitted in support of any application to the Charities Unit.
    7. Personal Data that had been previously supplied by the user to Public Agencies will be displayed to the user on this Website. Users of this Website shall:
      1. ensure that the Personal Data is complete, accurate and updated; and
      2. inform the Charities Unit if there are any inaccuracies in the Personal Data.
    8. Inaccurate, incomplete or outdated Personal Data may result in:
      1. delays in processing or rejection of the user’s applications through this Website; and/or
      2. the user being liable for costs incurred due to his submission of false or incorrect information.
  6. Availability and Right of Access
    1. MCCY may at any time change, suspend or discontinue the Website, any of the Contents, and/or access to any part or all of the Website, for any period of time without any prior notice and for any reason, and without liability.
    2. Anyone may access the publicly available content on the Website. However, you may be required to log in with your Singpass or Corppass in order to access and use certain functionalities within the Website.
    3. You are solely responsible for any and all activities which occur under your Singpass or Corppass account. MCCY is entitled to treat all activities that occur under your Singpass or Corppass account as having been conducted with your knowledge and authority.
    4. You must:
      1. ​​​comply with all applicable laws and regulations (whether of Singapore or any other jurisdiction) when using the Website;
      2. not access any information or data concerning another person without that person's permission;
      3. not use the Website in any unlawful manner, for any unlawful purpose, or in any manner inconsistent with these Terms, or act fraudulently or maliciously, including without limitation, by hacking into or inserting malicious code, including viruses, bugs or harmful data, into the Website or any computer system;
      4. not submit, publish, transmit, post or upload any material that is factually inaccurate, misleading, deceptive, in contempt of any court, defamatory, offensive, threatening, discriminatory, racist, seditious, obscene, pornographic, indecent, or otherwise objectionable to the general public, in relation to your use of the Website;
      5. not use the Website in a way that could damage, disable, overburden, impair or compromise MCCY's systems, databases, servers or security or interfere with other users; and
      6. ​not collect or harvest any information or data from MCCY's systems or attempt to decipher any transmissions to or from the servers running any features, services, tools, directories or content on the Website.
    5. MCCY reserves all rights to deny or restrict access to this Website to any particular person, or to block access from a particular internet address to this Website, at any time, without ascribing any reason(s) whatsoever​.
  7. Security and links to and from this Website
    1. Where appropriate, MCCY will use available technology to protect the security and integrity of the Website. However, MCCY expressly disclaims all liability for the security, authenticity, integrity or confidentiality of any transactions or communications made through the Website. You acknowledge that despite MCCY's efforts, internet communications may be susceptible to interference or interception by third parties, and that MCCY makes no warranties that the Website is or will be free of infection by computer viruses or other unauthorised software, and MCCY accepts no liability in connection with any loss you may suffer due to such computer viruses or unauthorised software.
    2. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your passwords, information, software, and equipment, and for all activities that occur on or through the Website or your Singpass or Corppass account in using the Website. This includes clearing your Internet browser or mobile device's cookies and cache before and after accessing or using any services on the Website​.

MCCY is not responsible for the availability or contents of those websites and applications, and shall not be liable for any damages or loss arising from your access to those websites and applications.
