Mdm Zuraidah Abdullah

Mdm Zuraidah Abdullah retired in October 2025 as the Chief Executive Officer of Yayasan MENDAKI, a Self-Help Group and a non-profit organisation set up in 1982 to uplift the Malay/Muslim community in Singapore through education and lifelong learning.

Prior to joining Yayasan MENDAKI in April 2020, she was a Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police in the Singapore Police Force (SPF). She served in the SPF for over 30 years as well as the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA), holding several key appointments including the Commander Jurong Police Division, Commander Training Command concurrent Deputy Chief Executive Home Team Academy (Admin), Commander Airport Police Division and Domain Commander (Air), Integrated Checkpoints Command, ICA. For her contributions to the public service, she was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Silver) and the Long Service Medal in 2011, and the Public Service Medal in 2019.

She has served on numerous governing boards in the public sector. In 2007, Mdm Zuraidah was the first woman to be appointed to the Council of the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (or MUIS). She currently holds several directorships and is a board or committee member in various organisations including the Land Transport Authority, National Health Group, Temasek Foundation Ltd, SG Eco Fund and Singapore College of Islamic Studies. She is also appointed as a Justice of the Peace in Singapore.

In 2016 and 2015, she was conferred the prestigious Berita Harian Achiever Award and Her World Woman of the Year Award respectively. She was also conferred the Nanyang Distinguished Alumni Award by Nanyang Technological University and made the honouree in Singapore Women’s Hall of Fame in 2014 in recognition of her achievements.
