Applying for Charity Status
This e-Service allows you to apply for charity status for your organisation. Charities are organisations which:
·
Operate on a not-for-profit basis;
·
Are set up exclusively for charitable purposes;
·
Carry out activities to benefit the public.

. To access the e-Service, you are required to have a valid SingPass account. Please apply
here
if you do not already have one.
Applicants are also required to submit the following (Acceptable file types: pdf, jpeg, png or gif. Maximum file size: 20mb):
·
A signed copy of the Governing Instrument;
and
·
Certified Statement of Accounts for the last 3 financial years (if applicable).
Estimated time to complete e-Service:
60 min
Estimated Processing time: 90 days upon submission of complete information on time.
Applying for IPC Status
An Institution of Public Character (IPC) is a charity organisation that is approved by the Commissioner of Charities to receive tax-deductable donations. This e-Service allows you to apply for IPC status for your organisation.

if you do not already have one.
Applicants are also required to submit the following (Acceptable file types: pdf, jpeg, png or gif. Maximum file size: 20mb):
·
2-year activities and fund disbursement plans.
Estimated time to complete e-Service: 30 min
Estimated Processing time: 90 days upon submission of complete information on time.
Applying for Fund Raising Permit for Foreign Charitable Purposes
This e-Service allows you to apply for a fund-raising permit for foreign charitable purposes. Before conducting any fund-raising activity for foreign charitable purposes, you must apply to the office of the Commissioner of Charities for permit. Such applications should not be submitted less than 30 days before the commencement of the fund-raising activity. You may apply for fund-raising as:
·
A Charity; or
·
An IPC; or
·
A Commercial Fund-Raiser/Participator.

if you do not already have one.
Applicants are also required to submit the following (Acceptable file types: pdf, jpeg, png or gif. Maximum file size: 20mb) :
·
Proof that the beneficiary is a bona fide organisation in its country;
·
Letter from the beneficiary acknowledging that fund-raising activity held in its name; and
·
Governing instrument of the charity or intended beneficiary.
Estimated time to complete e-Service: 30 min
Estimated Processing time: 30 days upon submission of complete information on time.
Making Annual Submissions
This e-Service allows you to submit information/documents annually to the Commissioner of Charities or the respective Sector Administrator, which consists of (Acceptable file types: pdf. Maximum file size: 20mb) :
·
Financial Statement;
·
Annual Report; and
·
Governance Evaluation Checklist.

Estimated Processing time: Not Applicable
Updating your Charity or IPC profile
This e-Service allows you to update the profile of your charity or Institution of Public Character (IPC).
You are required to inform the Commissioner of Charities or Sector Administrators within 7 days if there is any change in your organisation’s information.
For certain updates such as the addition or removal of governing board members, please note that you will first need to make a lodgement with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) or Registry of Societies (ROS) before you proceed to provide an update at the Charity Portal. .
Applicants are also required to submit the following (Acceptable file types: pdf, jpeg, png or gif. Maximum file size: 20mb):

An updated signed copy of the Governing Instrument (if applicable).
