Objectives

OBJECTIVES:
1. To promote and impart the religious teaching and beliefs of Yew Ong Yah and the other deities worshipped in the Kew Ong Yah Temple;

2. To foster good relationship among believers and encourage cultivation of good moral values.

Vision and Mission

MISSION
• Kew Ong Yah temple serve as places of worship where devotees pray, perform rituals, and make offerings to Kew Ong Yah (Nine Emperor Gods) and other deities. The primary goal is to promote spiritual well-being, peace, and harmony through practices that align with Kew Ong Yah beliefs, such as praying for health, prosperity, and guidance from deities.

• We also function as cultural centers, hosting Taoist festivals, rites of passage, and community events. We organize celebrations for festivals such as the Lunar New Year, Deities Annual Prayers and Celebrations and the Hungry Ghost Festival, fostering a sense of community and cultural identity



• We often engage in charitable work and provide services to the local community. This includes providing free food items and daily necessity items the poor and low income families, or offering educational support to research on Taoism, in line with Taoist principles of compassion and service to others.

VISION
• To be a welcoming and inclusive space where individuals can connect with Kew Ong Yah religious practice and seek spiritual fulfillment through prayer, meditation, and the cultivation of virtues such as harmony, simplicity, and compassion.

• To promote and preserve Kew Ong Yah religious practices, and cultural heritage for future generations, ensuring that the teachings of Kew Ong Yah beliefs and practices continue to be relevant and accessible in modern life.

• To inspire individuals to live in balance with nature and the universe, encouraging the practice of harmony in all aspects of life—personal, social, and environmental.

• To serve as a hub for social welfare, charitable initiatives, and community engagement, reflecting the Kew Ong Yah values of compassion and service. The temple may seek to uplift the local community by providing aid to those in need and promoting unity through shared cultural practices.
• To act as a bridge between different cultures and religious communities in Singapore, promoting mutual respect, dialogue, and understanding, while maintaining the unique identity of Taoism in Singapore’s multicultural society.

• To provide guidance and support for individuals facing life’s challenges by offering divination, wisdom, and counsel through Taoist practices and spiritual leaders.
